Konica Big Mini
The Konica Big Mini series emerged in the mid 1990s amidst a boom of consumer grade 35mm cameras. The first of the series of three models was the BM-101, followed by the 202 and concluding with the 300 offered here. The Konica Big Mini was never a glorified product line, offering a very humble and affordable entry-point to an ever increasing asking price on many of its contemporaries.
The BM-300 has autofocus 35mm f/3.5 lens and rather bizarrely features no lens-cap. Instead, the camera has a permanent ‘filter’ on the front to offer element protection; we’ll call this a charming quirk. It also features a tripod mount, should you want to take advantage of its 7.5 second shutter capability. The Konica big mini is the kind of camera you can comfortably throw in your pocket and use in almost any condition, from nighttime with its inbuilt flash to daytime, and not be too concerned about it.
