Contax T3
The Contax T3 was first introduced in 2001 in Japan, the home of Kyocera, Contax’s then parent company; along with Zeiss. The T3 was the final T series 35mm camera from the legendary product-line and partnership, offering what most consider to be the best performing compact 35mm camera of all time. Following on from the design cues of the original Contax T; a Porsche Design from 1984, which created a premium point-and-shoot segment with ‘space-age’ titaniums and curved body chamfers which resemble Apple products of today, far more than that of their competitors at the time. The T3, benefitted from far superior optics to its predecessor, the T2, with an altered Sonnar lens construction. The T3’s design has an interesting connection to the Contax Tix; a quickly obsolete APS formatted camera, which laid the groundwork for its 35mm sibling.
The T3, like all other Contax cameras of the era, had a multi-coated T* Carl Zeiss lens with advanced Japanese electronics of the same relative quality. This pairing would create a camera that had rapid response times in switching the camera on and off, but more importantly with shooting pictures. The powerful flash, large viewfinder and razor sharp optics made it even appeal to professional users, like Juergen Teller, Annie Leibovitz and Mario Testino; all of whom have been seen using Contax snapshots over the years. This combination of usability and iconic professional use has cemented the T3 as one of the all time great cameras, earning it a kind of cult status among both amateurs and professionals.
This Contax T3 is offered in close to new old stock condition with all original packaging, sealed wrist-strap, manuals and leather case.
